Pamela Jean (Ullius) Bartels, age 73 of South Wayne, passed peacefully from this life into the welcoming arms of her Lord, surrounded by her loving family on October 9, 2023 at AngelsGrace Hospice.
Pam was born in Beloit, the daughter of Russel and LeBerta (Littell) Ullius. She grew up on the Arngibbon farm in the Janesville area and showed beef shorthorns in the Johnstown 4H. She graduated from Milton High School and attended the University of Dubuque. She met John H. Bartels at the Rock County Fair dairy barn and they were united in marriage in 1991 at Central Christian Church in Beloit.
Pam worked for many years in the purchasing department at Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) in Beloit. She also worked as an administrative assistant in Monroe. For the last 17 years, she was a home health aide in the Monroe area. She considered this work her true calling and was dedicated to her clients.
Pam was the bedrock of her blended family and a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Her many decades-long friendships were a testament to her warmth and devotion to the people she loved. She will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, ready smile, and silly sense of humor. She was a gifted and passionate quilter and enjoyed a wide range of crafting and baking activities. She was also a talented musician who sang and played piano. She loved animals and they loved her.
Pam is survived by her husband, John; children: Annette (Kevin) Dehmer of Rogers, MN, John (Carrie) Bartels of Oregon, Krista (Daniel Westerberg) Knudson of Hartland, and Kara (Cory) Bartels-DeVoe of Monticello; grandchildren: Alexa, Greta, Ashlyn, Arianna, Benjamin, and Finnegan; and sister, Susan (Tom) Kelly of Sun Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and half-sister, Tannasee “Tanny” Hoel.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home. David Meding of Central Christian Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Emerald Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Show extra kindness to a person or animal in your life and think of Pam when you do – she would have loved that.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
