Norman Thomas Gordon, age 85, of Darlington, WI, passed away on September 8, 2022. He was born on January 22, 1937, in Darlington, the son of Gilman and Susan (Thill) Gordon. Living within a two-mile stretch of rural Darlington for his entire life, Norman graduated from high school and started crop and dairy farming on his family homestead. On June 28, 1958, he married the love of his life, Lois McGranahan, at the Darlington United Methodist Church.
Norman is survived by his wife, Lois, at home; his children, Diane (Brad) Schulte of Madison, WI, Cinda (Dick) Quinn of Verona, WI, Donna Gordon of Lexington, KY, and Roger (Lisa) Gordon of Darlington; his 11 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Severson of Janesville, WI; his brother-in-law Rodger (Bonnie) McGranahan of Anaheim, CA; and his sister-in-law Arleta Gordon.
Norman was an active member of the Darlington United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and enjoyed fellowship from the Koffee Klutch Klass. He was an elected representative for three boards: Farm Service Agency, Farm Bureau Federation, and Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative. He was also an avid sports fan of the Darlington Redbirds and the Green Bay Packers.
Norman’s life centered around farming and his family. He attended their sporting events, music concerts, graduations, church milestones, and birthday parties. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife for over 25 years. Along with Lois, he loved to travel with 4-H friends, fellow board members, and numerous close friends. Norman saw 46 of the United States, three Caribbean Islands, and ten European countries in his lifetime. He is already deeply missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 9:00 AM-10:45 AM, with his funeral beginning at 11:00 AM, all at the Darlington United Methodist Church.
