Graveside services for three members of the same family who died this year will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mary Ann Matthews, age 91 of Monroe, died January 25. She was born in Monroe and graduated from SouthWayne High School. Mary Ann was married to Kenneth Kleckner and then to Chester Matthews. She operated Mary Ann’s Beauty Shop. She was survived by two daughters: Debra (Dennis) Figi and Donna (Dick Nelson); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dennis L. Figi, age 65 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on February 26. He lived his entire life on the farm that his family has owned since 1900 and where his ashes will be placed at a later date. Dennis married Debra Hawthorn in 2011 after being together for thirty years. He was survived by his wife Debra Kleckner Figi, sons Brian (Milissa) Hawthorn and Chad (Christy) Hawthorn; grandchildren Clay-ton Hawthorn and Brittany (Nick) Epperhart; and siblings Matt Figi, Pete (Annie) Figi, and Alice (Jerry) Brooks.

Brian Steven Hawthorn, age 50 of Colorado Springs, unexpectedly passed away at home on May 1. Brian was born in Monroe on August 15, 1970 to Steven and Debra (Kleckner) Hawthorn. Brian graduated from Monroe High School in 1989 and moved to Colorado Springs where he attended technical school. He then worked as a manager at Quality Alternator. He married Milissa Teters on May 4, 1996 and enjoyed camping and fishing in the mountains of Colorado. He was also involved in hill climb racing. Survivors include his mother, Debra Kleckner Figi; father Steven (Pat) Hawthorn; wife Milissa; daughter Brittany (Nick) Epperhart; brother Chad (Christy) Hawthorn and their son Clayton; stepbrother Ken Kosowicz, and stepsister Allie Kosowicz.
