Lawrence William Schneider, 95 of Browntown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Manor in Footville.  He was born on August 29, 1928 the son of William and Ella (Wuethrich) Schneider. Lawrence was united in marriage to Lucille Alma Nipple on June 15, 1952, together they shared 71 years of marriage; he joined his beloved wife in heaven just one week after her passing.

Lawrence served in the US Army from 1952-1954 at Fort Knox, KY; where he learned to drive busses and semis. He was responsible for hauling troops and celebrity visitors around the base.  During his lifetime he was in Turn und Schwing Gymnastics Club in Monroe and competed in New Jersey, being awarded a 2nd place trophy.  He farmed most of his life in Green County beginning on the family farm.  He also drove truck for many local businesses including: Goldenrod Creamery, Dunwiddie Trucking, Whitehead Trucking, Kaderly’s Natures, Babler Trucking, as well as moving machinery for the Amish in New Glarus.  Lawrence enjoyed to bowl, beginning as a pin setter as a young child at the old Brodhead Lanes. He also loved to go hunting and fishing. Lawrence and Lucille shared many fond memories of traveling and going dancing together.

Lawrence is survived by his three children, Bruce (Becky) Schneider of Monroe, Connie (Steve) Isely of Juda, and Linda Buol of Troy, IL; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Gobeli; and Lucille’s uncle, Ray Laughridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Marvin (Rose) Schneider; sister, Helen (Herb) Matzke; half-sisters, Wilma (Karl) Brandenburg and Lorraine (Stanley) Altenburn; half-brother, Fred “Fritz” Gobeli; son-in-law, Terry Buol; grandson, Terry Schneider; and great-granddaughters, Iris, Danielle, and Emma Loggins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Barrett officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Juda at a later time.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 4:00- 7:00PM at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
