Kenneth J. “Ken” Vlasak, age 90 of rural Blanchardville, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at his home in rural Blanchardville. He was born August 18, 1931, in Elroy, WI the son of Alois and Mary (Drzka) Vlasak. Ken grew up on the family farm in Monroe County, WI and graduated from Elroy High School in 1948. After high school, Ken took over his family farm until 1957 when he and his family moved to the Village of Argyle. He was united in marriage to Arlene B. Waters on November 29, 1952, in Elroy. He worked for Southern Wisconsin Breeders which later became Tri-State Breeders until 1965, was a salesman for Walnut Grove Feed Products from 1965-1967, spent time as a dairy equipment specialist for Midland Cooperative – Dairy Equipment Division from 1969-1975, was proud to be the general manager of Quad County Cooperative in Blanchardville and Barneveld, WI from 1975 – 1983 and as a supervisor in the distribution center at Argyle Industries, Inc. from 1984 – 2002 when he retired. Even after retiring, Ken spent several years working part-time at Ederer’s Dairy Service for several years.

Ken is survived by his wife Arlene at home; his children: Gary (Bonnie) Vlasak of Argyle and Laurel (Dennis) Schliem of Monroe, WI; a son-in-law: Neal Hunter of Monroe; his grandchildren: Matt (Kelsey) Schliem, Angela (Dan) Bawinkel, and Jeremy (Morgan) Hunter; two step-grandchildren: Shanna Thompson and Trevor Thompson; and his great-grandchildren: Miles, Maisyn, Bentley, Laney, Chance, Rhonna, and Eddison. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter: Rhonda Hunter; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Ken was a member of Blanchardville United Methodist Church in Blanchardville. He had a skill set for woodworking that was unmatched. He enjoyed making various woodworking projects for everyone in his family. He also loved to spend time on the golf course with his friends. Ken had a passion for baking and was known for his cinnamon rolls, pumpkin rolls and Christmas cookies. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever.

A private family funeral service will be held at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, WI with Rev. Paul Gregersen of Blanchardville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
