Kathlyn Hope Kramer, age 71 of Monroe, WI (formerly of Lena, IL) passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born on June 15, 1950, to Rev. Frederick Lloyd and Edith (Kleese) Bauer in Washington, Iowa. Kathy graduated from Iowa State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She married Gary Kramer on July 15, 1972, at the Methodist Church in West Chester, Iowa and together they raised 3 children.

Kathy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena and was very active on various committees.  She volunteered her time at My Friends Closet and was a member of Laureate Gamma Omicron Women’s Sorority Club.  Kathy had a love of dogs and was passionate about animal rescue. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren- they were her everything.

Kathy is survived by her husband Gary of Monroe, WI; 3 sons- Kurt (Tabbitha) Kramer of Eldridge, IA, Matt (Robin) Kramer of Springfield, MO and Dan (Adrienne) Kramer of Monroe, WI;  7 grandchildren- Libby, Chloe, Nate, Wesley, Alex, Dierks, and Lexi; sister- Esther Frohardt of Centennial, Co; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers- Harry Bauer and Keith Bauer; and sister- Faith Utesch.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 7, 2022, at St, John’s Lutheran Church in Lena, IL. A luncheon to follow immediately after the service.

Visitation took place from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena, IL.

A private burial will take place at Lena Burial Park.

Rev. Rick Bader will be officiating the service.

Cremation rites to be accorded.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Green County Humane Society and St. John’s Lutheran Church.
