Katheryn “Katy” Ann Fry, age 72, of Browntown passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Monroe Health Services.  She was born on August 2, 1951 the daughter of Leland and Alice (Colberg) Zier.  Katy graduated from Pearl City High School and later attended Rockford Stewardess School.

Katy worked as an inventory and receiving associate for Food Bonanza in Freeport for many years.  She loved spending time playing slots at casinos, watching the Game Show Network, supporting the Green Bay Packers, and teaching Sunday school in Pearl City. Additionally, she had a passion for cooking and baking during the holidays, making every festive season more special.  She also enjoyed playing cards and board games and visiting with family and friends. Katy also loved dogs especially her dogs; Mollie, Magi, and Sadie.

Katy is survived by her, daughter, Kimberly (Ray) Plath of Janesville, daughter-in-law, Melissa Fry of Davis, IL, and her daughters, Moriah, Haley, and Kaitlyn; significant other, William Ammann, Sr. of Browntown, and his children, Billy Ammann Jr., Pam Powers, Brandie Yingst, and Jamie Ammann; brother, Carl (Val) Zier of Rock Grove, IL; sister, Nadine Broshous of Houston, TX; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel Fry; brother Darrell Zier; and step-son, Bradly Ammann.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Saucerman Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com
