John “Johnny” R. Argall

John “Johnny” R. Argall, age 54 passed away on January 7, 2022, peacefully at his home in South Wayne, WI surrounded by his family. He was born on April 11, 1967, in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Frederick “Fritz” Argall and Maureen (Bloom) Ubersox. He grew up in South Wayne where he attended Black Hawk High School and was a 1985 graduate. After graduating from school, John started his career in construction and later started his own business J & A Wallboard that he operated for many years. On September 6, 1997, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Renee (Racette) Argall at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

John is survived by his wife Renee; their four children: Riley (Jeff) Solberg of Gratiot, WI, Colby of South Wayne, Abigail who is attending the University of Wisconsin Platteville, and Brody; one grandson on the way in March: Beckem John Solberg; his mother Maureen Ubersox of Shullsburg, WI; his sisters: Kay (Phil Mak) Argall of Jacksonville, FL, Karla Chamberlin of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kelly Argall of Scottsdale, AZ; and his brother-in-law Thomas (Bill) Racette of Detroit, MI; five nieces: Taylor, Memee, Paige, Hannah, and Chloe; one nephew: Nathan.

He was preceded in death by his father Fritz in 2013 and his stepfather Lyle Ubersox in 1999.

John was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He loved sports and had a passion for coaching his children. John was the head coach for the YMCA youth football team. He also coached basketball, baseball, and wrestling. In his free time, John loved being outdoors, especially bow and gun hunting for deer. He loved spending time with his family. They enjoyed camping, rangering, and boating. As a family, Sundays were the best day of the week. Whether they watched football, grilled out, or went for an afternoon cruise in his 1972 Chevelle SS, they cherished every moment spent together. John was a big sports fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and most importantly the Black Hawk Warriors. He never missed a Friday night football game and relished in the team’s success. John’s wife and children were the focal point of his life and would do anything for them. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church (407 East Center Street, South Wayne 53587) with Rev. Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in South Wayne, following the service. A visitation will be held on Thursday January 13, 2022, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in South Wayne.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund has been established in John’s name. All cards can be dropped off at the church or mailed to the Erickson Funeral Home (508 Park Place, Darlington, WI 53530).
