Janet M. Wilson, age 85, of Sauk Prairie; formerly of Monroe passed away Thursday, Apr. 20, 2023 at Artisan Senior Assisted Living in Baraboo.  She was born in Monroe on Sept. 5, 1937 to the late George and Edna (Sacker) Jones Jr.  Janet was a graduate from Brodhead High School in 1955.  She was united in marriage to Stuart Wilson; he preceded her in death in 1993.  They lived in Oak Park Terrace for many years; Janet later moved to Sauk Prairie to be closer to her family and grandchildren.  She worked for American Family insurance for 40 years; retiring in the spring of 2000.  Janet loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, picking dandelions and scooping up pinecones.  She looked forward to daily trips to the grocery store and her soap operas. She was a very giving person always putting everyone before herself and she would go without.

She is survived by her only son, Kary Fowler; his children, Alec Fowler, Melissa (Jason) Schneider, and Ashley Fowler; and great grandchildren, Haley and Hayden.  Janet is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Leland Jones.

A funeral service for Janet will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held in the Highland Memory Garden Cemetery, Cottage Grove.
