Fred J. Geissbuhler, age 65 of Mineral Point, WI formerly of Darlington, WI passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at his home in Mineral Point. He was born February 22, 1957 in Monroe, WI the son of Hans and Lorena (Schmitz) Geissbuhler. Fred grew up in Darlington where he graduated from Darlington High School in 1975. Following high school, Fred moved to Madison where he attended MATC and received his associates degree. After college, he worked in Madison for a few years until he decided to go into business for himself. He moved south, finally settling down in Georgia, and helped people rebuild after natural disasters throughout the South. In 2008, Fred moved back to the area and worked at Lands End in Dodgeville, WI until retiring in 2020.

Fred is survived by two sisters: Karen Rickard of Hudson, WI and Deb (Denny) Larson of South Wayne, WI; one sister-in-law: Anna Geissbuhler of Darlington; his nieces and nephews: Jamie (Ben) Everson of Lake Mills, WI, Erin (Justin) Kean of Ankeny, IA, Katie (Lance) Flannery of Argyle, WI, and Barry (Jen) Larson of Mount Horeb, WI, Jamie (Dennis) Roschen of Red Wing, MN, Jill Thomas of New Port Richey, FL, Vickie Rickard of New Port Richey, Julie Geissbuhler of Darlington, and Angie Marty of San Francisco, CA, many great-nieces and nephews; and his best friend: Rick Conroy of McFarland, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: John Geissbuhler; one sister: Rita Marty; and one brother-in-law: Jim Rickard.

Wherever Fred was located throughout the United States he always made a point to attend Catholic Mass. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed golfing and playing cards. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews creating memories they will all remember forever. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington). A rosary will be prayed following the visitation from 12:00 P.M. until 12:30 P.M. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery at a later date.
