Donna Beth Johnson, age 88, of Monroe passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the SSM Health Hospital.  She was born on March 13, 1935 the daughter of Arleigh and Hazel (Holman) Johnson.  She graduated from Monroe High School.  She went on to earn her nursing degree.  Donna also had a degree in medical transcription, attended business school in Rockford, and attended Blackhawk Tech. She married John Enzinger, Jr; together they had four children. 

Donna was a secretary and medical transcriber at The Monroe Clinic Hospital (now SSM Health) and FHN in Freeport for many years.  Her favorite pastimes were shopping and people watching.  She was a constant student, always thirsting for knowledge, with a passion for reading that stayed with her throughout her life.  She was a member of the West Wiota Lutheran Church.

Donna is survived by her children, John D. Enzinger of Freeport, IL, Cindy Preuss of Waukesha, Deanne (David) Gross of Orangeville, IL, and Daryl Enzinger of Madison; grandchildren, Heather (Aaron) Penticoff, Nicole (Kevin) Wirtjess, Benjamin Preuss, and Matthew Preuss; great- grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Penticoff and Hannah and Hazen Wirtjess; brother, David (Mary Ann) Johnson; and sister, Judy Wehinger; she is further survived by her cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and dear friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, John; sister, Ruth (Vern) Stelter; and brother-in-law, Jim Wehinger.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating.
