Dennis Lee Meier left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital from complications due to a stroke. He was born May 10, 1950, in Monroe, WI to Wesley and Dorothea (Sacker) Meier. He graduated from South Wayne Black Hawk High School in 1968. As a young man, he had many mowing jobs and enjoyed shelling and selling walnuts. He had worked at Frito-Lay, Advance Transformer, and retired from RR Donnelley in 2005. He married Beth Bunting on June 5, 1971. Together they had one daughter, LuAnn Meier. After their divorce, Dennis married Maris Clark on November 14, 1997. After her passing, he developed a very special friendship with Shirley Goodman. Dennis’s faith was very important to him. He had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior early 1970’s. He had attended the Hope Evangelical Free Church and Monroe Bible Church. Dennis loved gardening and taking care of his yard; being out in nature; animals, especially dogs; going for walks; visiting with his neighbors and people in the nursing homes; sending out cards; collecting, especially sports memorabilia; going to rummage sales; and making hundreds of dozens of cookies and handing them out at Christmastime. Dennis will be missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maris, special friend Shirley, niece Megan Meier, and brother Russell. He leaves behind his daughter LuAnn, Monroe; sister Diane (Don) Hawkinson, Gratiot; brothers Gary (Angie Cunningham), Russellville, Arkansas, and Tim (Lisa Kolosso), Verona,Wisconsin; sister-in-law Corrine (Michael) Webber, Monroe; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Monroe Bible Church, 2613 8th Avenue, Monroe, Wisconsin, Saturday, March 26 from 9:00-11:00 A.M., with a service at 11:00 A.M. There will be a private luncheon for family.
