Delmar Carl “Del” Friedrichs Sr., age 92, of Stoughton, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehab. He was born on Feb. 14, 1931, in Doland, S.D., the son of Fred and Alice (Frehner) Friedrichs.

Del grew up in South Dakota, Illinois and Wisconsin. He married Bernice Huber in 1953 in Monroe, Wis. He moved his family to Madison, Wis., in 1966 where he owned the Northgate Laundry for a number of years.  After leaving Northgate Laundry he worked for United Linen and Laundry Services as a floor supervisor until he retired.

Del and Bernice were members of the Goldwing Road Riders Association. They traveled to all 50 states and Canada mostly by motorcycle or 5th wheel. He also enjoyed painting landscapes, woodworking on small projects, flower gardening and doing activities with his family. He was a member of Good Shepherd by the Lake Lutheran Church in Stoughton.

Del is survived by his daughters, Kristine Mistlebauer, Lora Friedrichs, Delnice (Randy) Hill and Beth (Sergio) Mireles; son, Delmar Friedrichs Jr.; sister-in-law, Shirley Friedrichs; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alice; his wife, Bernice; son-in-law, Scott Mistlebauer; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Friedrichs, Milo (Frances) Friedrichs, Milton Friedrichs, Dalen (Leona) Friedrichs and Vernon (Nancy) Friedrichs.

A memorial service was held at Good Shepherd by the Lake Lutheran Church, Stoughton, on Friday, April 21, 2023, with Pastor Todd McVey presiding.
