Daniel Kent Lattin, Dan, of Browntown, died of COVID-complicated pneumonia on Wednesday December 29th, 2021 at the age of 26.
Dan was born on June 22nd, 1995 in Madison, WI. As a bright-eyed, jovial and stubborn boy, he was drawn to cows and tractors like his father and uncles. This was until Pokémon came along, which ignited his obsession with anime and desire to learn Japanese. Dan never backed down from a dare and despised being told what to do. He enjoyed sketching and dreamt of becoming an architect. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 180 and in the Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H Club.
Dan graduated from Monroe High School in 2013 and joined Colony Brands as a 2nd shift supervisor in the Mailing Department. He enjoyed guiding and building his team up. A night owl by nature, he could be found listening to classic Cher and Jim Croce records while playing video game series, like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. On the weekends, he and his cousin, Karl, spent much of their spare time fishing and rebuilding Ol’ Red, Dan’s first truck. The one exception was his Brandy Old Fashioned Friday nights, which Dan devoted to trying each of Green County’s fish fries.
He was preceded in death by his father Rodney Lattin, his grandparents, Virgil and Rose Marie Albright, Walter Lattin, and uncle, Keith Lattin. He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Albright, and her significant other Robert Higbee of Brodhead; his sister and brother-in-law, Nichole and Wyatt Webster of Verona; his brother, Darrell and Lydia Lattin, and his three nieces Madajah, Anastasia, and Iridessa Lattin of Monroe, grandma Leora Lattin of Madison, and closest friend and cousin, Karl Albright of Monroe.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Scott Cernek officiating. A Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com
