Dale Charles Scott, age 82, of Gratiot, passed away on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023 at Monroe Health Services.  Dale was born on March 26, 1941, the son of Arthur and Geraldine (Noble) Scott.  He grew up in rural Lafayette County and graduated from Gratiot High School.  In 1961 Dale married Janet Burmeister, raising their family in Gratiot.   

Dale worked in farming and factories, and later retired from the Lafayette County Highway Department. 

In his younger years, Dale played slow pitch softball.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, gambling and casino trips, spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid Packers and Cubs fan.     

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph Scott, Nora, Illinois; and son-in-law, Jeff Ripp. 

Dale is survived by his former wife, Janet, three children, Rick Scott, Platteville, Susan (Rich) Selover, Milwaukee, and Debbie Ripp, Monroe.  Dale is also survived by his brother Ron (Jackie) Scott, North Carolina, and his two grandsons, Josh Scott, Monroe, and Nicholas Bruno, Georgia. 

Visitation will be held at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 5:30 PM, with a Memorial Service at 5:30 PM.  A private burial will be held with the immediate family.
