Catherine Genevieve Leuzinger, age 85, of Monroe formerly of Browntown, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on October 16, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Gilsey) Stopka in Monroe. Catherine was united in marriage to Clifford W. Leuzinger on June 10, 1951 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe.

She worked as a kitchen aide and doing housekeeping at The Monroe Hospital as well as a caregiver through Preferred Living. She had been a longtime member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #599. Catherine enjoyed crocheting and would donate hats and blankets for the babies born at the hospital in Monroe. She was known as a great cook and canning vegetables to share with family and friends. Catherine also loved paint by number, playing cards, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by her children, Daniel Leuzinger of Cable, WI, Dean Leuzinger of Florida, and Elizabeth (Henry) Robinson of Albany; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Brenda (fiancé Jerry Hilfiker) Leuzinger; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Scott and Michael Leuzinger; daughter, Debra Rothenbuehler; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Zita Ammann, Fredrick Stopka, Ethel Legler, and Annette Wimmler.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Minister Art Rodriguez officiating. Burial will immediately follow service in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Catherine’s name.
