Bonnie Rae Seeholzer
Bonnie Rae Seeholzer

Bonnie Rae Seeholzer, age 89, formerly of Monticello, WI, passed away on March 8, 2020, in Pardeeville, WI under the loving care of her daughter, Cindy. She was born to parents Sylmar G Jessop and Ina J (Dahle) Jessop on October 17, 1930 in Logan, Utah.

She was born during the Great Depression when people learned to “do without,” and she could tell interesting stories about growing up in the 1930’s. She earned a certificate from Logan School of Cosmetology and attended Utah State University and BYU. She married David Seeholzer on June 7,1952 and moved to Wisconsin to become a hard-working cheesemaker’s wife.

In Monticello, she shared her love of music by teaching piano from her home for 25 years. She loved her students and took pleasure in hosting recitals. Bonnie was an extrovert who enjoyed meeting new people and learning about them. She worked for 26 years at Nancy’s Ladies Apparel. While at Nancy’s she modeled for style shows and met many people. She had a flair for looking good and accumulated a closet full of beautiful clothes. She was an honest personal shopper who wasn’t afraid to tell customers when they chose an outfit that made them “look like a barrel.” She enjoyed many family vacations throughout the states, special family trips to Utah, and memorable trips to Europe.

Proud of being an independent woman, Bonnie was also wise and witty and loved to make people laugh with her quick rejoinders. She had a stage presence. Reading was one of her favorite past-times. She loved books that made her laugh and always loved to learn. Her last weeks were comfortable in Badger socks, a Packer robe (she was a proud Green Bay Packer stockholder. She enjoyed back rubs, looking at birds and sunsets, and watching westerns on TV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David, and two cherished ladies; aunt, Doris Jones, and sister-in-law, Marianne Jessop.

She is survived by children, Cindy (Rick) Allen of Pardeeville and Stephen (Kris) of Green Bay; grandchildren Jeff Wilson of Glendale, Bryan Wilson of Milwaukee, AnnMarie (Luis) Gonzalez of Crystal, MN, Kendra (Scott) Reeve of Aurora, UT, and Brooke (special friend Gabe Velarde) Seeholzer of Oakland, CA; and great grandchildren Cooper and Hailey Reeve. Also surviving are brothers Willard (Elaine) Jessop of Lewiston, UT, and Gordon Jessop of Orem, UT, and special cousins.

The family wishes to thank all of the good friends she had in the Monticello area who looked out for her and also for the kind, caring people from Agrace (especially Ashley) who made Bonnie’s last weeks comfortable.

A celebration of her life will be held at T&D’s (Monticello House) in Monticello WI on Sunday, March 29, 2020 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. If there is not currently a happy hour in heaven, she will work to create one.

Memorials received will be distributed to the Monticello Public Library and to Agrace Hospice Care.
