Barbara K. Whitehead, age 80 of Monroe passed away on Thursday December 9, 2021 at Pleasent View Nursing Home. She was born March 15, 1941 the daughter of Henry and Alice (Crooks) Leuzinger. She attended Monticello High School.
Barbara married Milo Whitehead on January 17, 1960 in Monticello. She worked at Swiss Colony for 18 years where she retired in 2002. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, camping, and bowling.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Marcy (Steve Kubly) Hunt of Monroe and Jolene (Jim Teach) Whitehead of Monroe; 4 grandchildren; Kira Cowan, Christina (Casey Butitta) Strait, Kari (Rick) Cook and Melissa (Joel Faith) Leu; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Sue) Leuzinger, Curtis (Kathy) Leuzinger, and Tom (Laurie) Leuzinger all from Monroe; sisters, Margaret O’Kane of Madison, Susan Jacobson of Onalaska, and Mary (Dennis) Kennedy of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milo Whitehead; brother, Victor in infancy; sister, Ruth; and brothers-in-law, Bob O’Kane, Mark Jacobson and Jack Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. John’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will take place in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be given in Barbara’s name to either Moose Heart or Moose Haven.
