Barbara J. Kottke, age 86, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Aster Assisted Living. She was born on September 11, 1937 the daughter of Eric and Bertha (White) Johnson. She graduated from Cudahy High School. After high school Barb started her career in banking, dedicating 41 years to Chase Bank. She started as a teller and later earned her position as an Executive Secretary to a corporate officer at the bank. On May 4, 1963, Barb was united in marriage to the love of her life Gordon Kottke.
Barb enjoyed reading and travelling to visit family. Her travels took her to New Zealand, Scotland, South Korea, France, and England. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mineral Point. Above all Barb was a wonderful grandmother, who cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Barb is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gordon of Monroe; her daughter, Kristin (Tim) Dalby; her grandchildren, Aiden and Julien, all of Madison; sister, Cynthia (Ron) Glines; and sisters-in-law, Barb Johnson and Arlette Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley Kottke; and her brothers, Ron and David Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 400 Ridge St. Mineral Point, WI with Pastor Cal Schaver officiating. A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Dementia Society of America or The Parkinson’s Foundation, in Barb’s memory.
