Antoinine “Toni” Regina Fox, age 88, of New Glarus for the last six years and formerly longtime resident of Janesville, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the New Glarus Home. She was born the daughter of Robert and Mary (Wand) McGinnis on September 5, 1934 in Gratiot. She was a graduate of Gratiot High School. Toni was united in marriage to Robert Mau, together they had one son; he preceded her in death in 1954. She later married Harold Fox and together they had four sons; he preceded her in death in 1992.
Toni proudly took care of her family and her home. She also worked for the Janesville School District for 20 years as a custodian. She was a member of St. John’s Vianney Catholic Church in Janesville. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Johnny Cash fan; though her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Toni is survived by her sons, Harry “Butch” (Julie) Mau of rural Monroe, Jeff (Sue) Fox of Monroe, and Steve Fox of Janesville; daughter-in-law, Tracey Fox of Alabama; grandchildren, Robert Mau, Renee (Randy) Lee, Mallary (Shaun Jackson) Fox, and Garrett Fox; great-grandchildren, Brody Fox, Madelyn Jackson, and Brayden, Carsen Lee, Alison Mau; sister, Patricia Hintz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sons, Gary Fox and Tom Fox; daughter-in-law, Therese Mau; and siblings, Robert “Bob” McGinnis, Rita Zimmerman, John McGinnis, Delphine Homb, Francis McGinnis, Art McGinnis, Roseann Gerbick, Andy McGinnis and two siblings in infancy.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Father Chahm Gahng as celebrant. A private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Janesville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00PM until the time of service, at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
