MONROE - The Zor Shrine Pipes and Drums of Madison will be joining the Monroe City Band for an evening of Scottish and Irish music at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 16 at the Twining Park bandshell.
Bill Rients, local vocalist and guitarist, will serve as master of ceremonies for the concert, which is free and open to the public.
Rients will perform as vocal soloist, as well as performing with the band and Pipers separately, and then as a combined ensemble.
The Zor Shrine Pipes and Drums were founded in 1966. In 2007, they became only the second American band in the more than 40- year history of the Midwest Shrine Association to be named champions for the marching pipes and drums competition.
