WROF Premier Scholarship awarded to Monroe’s Meier
Six high school seniors from Wisconsin receive support to pursue their academic goals

MADISON — The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation (WROF), Inc. announced six recipients of their Premier Scholarship Awards Program, providing high school seniors from rural Wisconsin a total of $13,000 for tuition and educational expenses for postsecondary educational experiences. 

Recipients include David Thompson, Woodville; Ava Endres, Waunakee; Brandon Boyd, Watertown; Cole Meier, Monroe; Kortney Sebranek, Lone Rock; and Lucas Kramer, Wauzeka.

Thompson earned a $5,000 scholarship, while Endres and Boyd were each awarded $2,500. Meier, Sebranek and Kramer all earned $1,000.

“WROF, Inc. celebrates our 2023 Premier Scholar, David Thompson, and the five additional high school senior recipients. They represent the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and doers,” states WROF President Joan Behr. “All share a deep desire to work and live in Wisconsin when they graduate from their next level of studies. We look forward to their leadership and career contributions within rural Wisconsin.”

Tied to his roots in rural Wisconsin, Meier is looking forward to studying electrical power distribution at Southwest Technical College so that he can fulfill his dream of becoming a linesman. He graduated from Monroe High School.
