MONROE - A soggy week could be in store, with possible thunderstorms expected today and into Tuesday.
The National Weather Service is predicting a 60 percent chance of rain today, increasing to 80 percent by tonight. The high will be 80.
Things will cool off considerably for Tuesday, when the high is expected to be 62. The chance of thunderstorms will persist, however.
Wednesday and Thursday will see another drop in temperatures, as the highs will stay in the upper 50s. Showers are possible both days.
The area is still considerably drier than average for this time of year. According to Weathercentral.com, the Monroe area has had 5.19 inches of precipitation so far this year, compared to the normal 9.9 inches.
