MONROE — A pair of dependents is facing their fifth felony OWI charges in Green County Circuit Court, with one also being charged with a felony for running from police.
Ryan Todd King of Argyle was scheduled for a Thursday, Aug. 1, preliminary hearing on that fifth OWI charge before Circuit Judge Jane Bucher.
He was arrested for the charge on Feb. 15, 2024. He also is charged with misdemeanor driving while revoked and misdemeanor tampering with an ignition interlock device. Such devices are installed in the cars of repeat offenders, and they require the offender to blow into an analyzer to determine alcohol content before the engine will start.
According to court records, King also has been charged with felony bail jumping.
Not only is he charged with a felony fifth OWI charge, John E. Ellis of Fitchburg, also faces a felony charge of fleeing to elude police, two counts of bail jumping; and interlock device tampering. He was arrested on Oct. 14, 2023 by the Green County Sheriff’s Office.
A fifth OWI is a Class G felony in Wisconsin punishable by a maximum sentence of more than 10 years in state prison.
