Trees, shrubs offered to landowners

MONROE - Green County Land and Water Conservation Department is offering nine varieties of trees and tree varieties of shrubs at an economical price for landowners interested in planting trees in the spring of 2014.

The tree varieties are: Bur Oak, Red Oak, Swamp White Oak, White Oak, Sycamore, Sugar Maple, Shagbark Hickory, Black Cherry and a conifer White Pine. Shrubs available are: Plum, Hazel Nut and Elderberry. The cost is only $2 a tree with a minimum order of 10 of one species.

Trees can be ordered at the land and water conservation department, 1627 4th Ave. West; by calling 608-325-4195; or by ordering at www.co.green.wi.gov. Orders will be taken until Tuesday, Dec. 30. Scheduled delivery of trees will be in April 2014.
