MONROE - The city's Finance and Taxation Committee was informed at their March 18 meeting that the state has agreed to give funding to the city in its effort to extend cab services hours. According to City Clerk Carol Stamm, the state grant will increase by about $6,000, leaving the taxpayers with a couple hundred dollars to operate a Safe Ride program between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. The Tavern League of South Central Wisconsin is also contributing about $2,500 to the program.
