BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. - A 1987 Brodhead High School graduate pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing his ex-wife Nov. 7 in Jackson County.

Douglas A. Sidie, 39, Hatfield, pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide, a charge that carries a mandatory life sentence.

Sidie wept in court Tuesday when he told a judge he intended to kill his ex-wife last November.

Ten other charges, including hiding Alisha Sidie's body, were dismissed, but can be considered at sentencing.

The Jackson County Circuit Court didn't set a sentencing date for Sidie.

Sidie told police Nov. 8 that his ex-wife Alisha, 27, disappeared Nov. 8 after they argued at their house the night before.

Sidie helped hundreds of searchers over the next eight days as they looked for the woman.

Sidie eventually told detectives where they could find Alisha's body in the township of Komensky. Her body was found in an area that had not been searched before, however it was close to the area where dozens of officers and hundreds of volunteers searched.

An investigation revealed Alisha was shot in the face at a home she shared with Sidie and their 2-year-old twins.

According to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access site, Doug Sidie and his wife were divorced in 2007. In 2005, Sidie pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and was fined $248.
