MONROE - As the fifth installment in the Concerts on the Square series, The Rainbow Bridge Band will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, on the west side of the Square, downtown Monroe.

Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs.

The Rainbow Bridge Band, which was formed in Aug. 1976, takes its name from a Jimi Hendrix album of the same title. They will play Top 40 country hits, as well as current and classic rock and roll.

Box lunches will be available at Café Claudeen's, Pancho and Lefty's, and Boomerang Bakery. All are located on or near the Square. Special Olympics volunteers will be selling popcorn as a fundraiser. Bartels Pub and Ruf's Confectionery provide the popcorn to the group free of charge.

Beverages will be available at a beer stand sponsored by the Green County Humane Society. Monroe Main Street will sell snow cones and water.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move to The Roller Den, 1506 31st Ave., Monroe. A sign announcing the move will be posted on the square and announced on WEKZ.
