MONROE - Tracey Pederson has been named the new executive director for Monroe Clinic and Hospital Foundation.
In her role, Pederson oversees the operation of the foundation.
She works with the foundation board and the communities served to grow endowment funds and support Monroe Clinic's mission through philanthropy.
Since its beginning in 2007, funds raised through the foundation have supported area health initiatives, from sponsoring driver safety programs to helping emergency teams purchase needed rescue equipment.
"Monroe Clinic is an incredible asset to the people who live and work in this area," said Pederson, a Monroe native. "Even though our community is small, our patients receive 'big city' quality care by professionals who treat you like family. I'm passionate about making sure this exceptional service is accessible to people at all income levels."
Pederson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in mass communications.
She has worked with the Boys & Girls Club in marketing and development roles. Most recently, she served as executive director for Edgerton Hospital Capital Foundation.
She is a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals. Additionally, Pederson serves on the Green County Humane Society Board and does foster care for dogs waiting for their forever homes.
"Monroe is where I grew up. This community helped raise me and instilled the values I live by today," she said. "I'm so honored to be able to give back some of that love and compassion by doing my part to take care of this community in return."
The Monroe Clinic and Hospital Foundation's interim director, Ron Spielman, is pleased to have Pederson step into this leadership role.
"Tracey has both the experience and the enthusiasm to lead the foundation forward," Spielman said.
"Her love of the community and her knowledge of foundation operations make her an ideal fit for this position."
Spielman will continue his role as special projects advisor working with CEO Mike Sanders on opportunities in both Wisconsin and Illinois.
He will also work with Pederson as a mentor during her first few months at the foundation.
