MONROE - The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new session of "Friends, Fitness and Fun," an environment where adults can exercise together and move. The 45-minute sessions include cardio, strengthening, balance, core training and stretching. Exercise balls, weights, steppers and mats are used in workouts that change every class. Participants are encouraged to do what they can in a non-competitive atmosphere.

The program is led by Instructor Kristine Leck and held at the Behring Senior Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6 p.m. "Friends, Fitness and Fun" runs continuously in 13-week sessions. The latest session began Thursday. It costs $45 for residents and $55 for nonresidents.

Participants must be 18 years or older and can register online or in the department's temporary office at 1064 5th Ave. The phone number is 608-329-2460.
