MONROE- In a meeting Sept. 18, the City of Monroe Common Council:
Approved a five-year capital plan, on a vote of 8-1, with Tyler Schultz voting against.
Voted unanimously to hire Kyle Klopfenstein as a replacement street department laborer, with a starting pay of $16.89 per hour.
Approved unanimously $389,000 to pay bills.
Granted miscellaneous licenses.
Granted a temporary class B beer and wine license to St. Clare of Assisi, on a vote of 7-2, with Schultz and Sara Conway voting against.
Accepted a bequest of $10,000 from Marian Burkhardt Trust. The money is to be used for parks and recreation-related purposes, as the Parks and Recreation Board of Commissioners deems best.
Mayor Bill Ross thanked city employees for their work to make Green County Cheese Days a success.
The Treasurer's Report was not yet complete, as the cash accounts reconciliation continues.
