MONROE — A milk tanker overturned in the Town of Albany early Tuesday morning, injuring the driver who had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The crash happened just after 5:30 a.m. in the W1100 block of Bump Road.
“The investigation revealed the Lucas A. Strohacker, age 33 of Juda, was traveling east when the vehicle entered the north ditch, rolled over, collided with a culvert marker, and collided with a tree,” police said in a statement. “Strohacker was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated.”
According to police reports, Strohacker reported wearing a seatbelt and was transported for treatment of injuries from the crash. The extent of his injuries was not immediately available. Police did not say whether milk had been spilled.
The 2022 Mack Semi and 2007 Walker tanker trailer he was driving was sustained “disabling” damage, police said, but there was no airbag deployment, according to reports.
For his part, Strohacker was cited for failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
