BRODHEAD - A Brodhead man was arrested for possession of marijuana following a report of disturbance at about 10:30 p.m. Monday at a residence in the 700 block of West Second Avenue.

James J. Rossetti, 36, remains jailed pending an initial court appearance.

Brodhead police and two deputies from the Green County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to Rossetti's home following a report of a disturbance at the residence. Offices discovered 20 marijuana plants and equipment to grow marijuana, said Thomas Moczynski, Brodhead police chief. Some of the equipment included lights and ventilation equipment.

Moczynski said some of the items "were in plain view."

According to Green County Chief Deputy Jeff Skatrud, one marijuana plant can produce up to 2 pounds of marijuana.

Rossetti was also arrested for disorderly conduct.

Moczynski said charges would be referred to the Green County District Attorney's office.
