MONROE - The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees is now accepting applications from community members for three vacancies on the board. Applications must be submitted online or submitted to the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe, by 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.
The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees is a citizen volunteer board which is part of the School District of Monroe governing structure. The nine citizens who serve as board members are appointed by the school board. Library trustees serve three-year terms. No member can serve more than three full terms consecutively.
The library board meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, in the library's first floor conference room. Meetings are open to the public.
