MONROE - It may seem like a long time until Christmas, but Santa Claus already is starting his list of who's been nice and who's been not so nice.
Area children who want to make sure their wishes are known to Old St. Nick are invited to submit a letter to Santa Claus for publication in The Monroe Times' annual "Letters to Santa" special section. Santa, a loyal reader of the Times, uses this section to help make up his list for Christmas Eve deliveries.
The section will be published in The Monroe Times on Friday, Dec. 12. All letters also will be entered in a drawing from which six will be selected to receive a $25 cash prize.
Children through age 12 are eligible to enter. Letters should include the child's name, age, address and telephone number. Letters can be sent to: Letters to Santa, Monroe Times News Dept., P.O. Box 230, Monroe, WI 53566 or e-mailed to newsclerk@themonroetimes.com.
Teachers also can submit letters written in their classes. Teachers should include the students' first and last names, grade level and school.
Letters must be submitted by 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.
