Juda School Board: April 11, 2018

JUDA - At a meeting April 11, the Juda School Board:

♦ Accepted the resignation of Ralph Johnson, agriculture/technology instructor. The board thanked Johnson for his 25 years of service to the Juda School District.

♦ Recognized student Bethany Woodward for her performance in "The Lion King" through the Kids on Spotlight program in Janesville.

♦ Recognized retiring board member Joann Goecks for her 18 years of board service.

♦ Reviewed and discussed the recent JAM Board meeting.

♦ Learned that Robert Young has been hired as band instructor for the 2018-19 school year.

♦ Superintendent/Principal Traci Davis updated the board on the health insurance program for the staff for the coming year. No change will be made to the carrier or the benefits.

♦ Heard the April 3 election results in which Dennis Pfingsten and Eric Makos were re-elected for three-year terms and Sue Trotter was elected to a three-year term to replace Goecks.

♦ Reviewed and approved out-of-state field trips for the remainder of the school year.

♦ Approved the second reading of policy 422.1-Part Time Open Enrollment and policy 343.4-Start College Now. The Early College Credit policy was tabled.

♦ Approved a two-year contract for Davis and approved a request from a retiring employee after coming out of Executive Session.

♦ Set the reorganization meeting date for April 25 and the next board meeting for May 14.
