JANESVILLE - Police arrested a Janesville man on suspicion that he shared sexually explicit images with a 16-year-old girl through social media, according to Green County authorities.
Janesville officers arrested Brian C. Schmoldt, 50, following an investigation by the Green County Sheriff's Office after an incident in the town of Mount Pleasant.
Preliminary investigation shows Schmoldt shared through social media sexually explicit images with a 16-year-old girl he knows, Green County Chief Deputy Thomas Moczynski said.
Schmoldt was arrested on charges of causing a child to view sexual activity and exhibiting harmful material to a child, both felonies, and exposing genitals to a child, a misdemeanor, according to the release.
Schmoldt was locked in the Green County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
