On Tuesday, April 20, the Green County Board of Supervisors:
Approved transfers of about $717,000 from the county's general fund to various county accounts, and approved the transfer of about $535,000 from various accounts to the general fund. The board does this each year as the budget year comes to a close.
Elected Art Carter as board chairman, Harvey Mandel as first vice chairman and Sue Disch as second vice chairman.
Swore in Gordon Klossner to represent District 19 and Roger Truttman to represent District 29. They were elected April 6 as write-in candidates. The other board members were sworn in for two-year terms. Only Steve Stettler, who represents District 18, faced opposition in the April 6 election.
Established salaries for Green County sheriff, $67,506; clerk of court, $53,064; and Green County coroner, $55 per call plus mileage and $300 per month. The salaries must be announced before nomination papers are returned from any candidate who wants to run for the offices. The offices are for four years, with the terms beginning in January 2011 and ending in January 2015.
Heard annual reports from the county clerk, the land and conservation department, the sheriff's department, the zoning department and the county treasurer.
