MONROE — Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) has announced the launch of a local Pop-Up Shop program for Green County entrepreneurs.
“The goal of the program is to help revitalize the smaller downtowns in Green County, and in turn help entrepreneurs who are ready to launch their business,” GCDC Executive Director Olivia Otte said.
The program offers startup assistance to entrepreneurs with new business ideas for retail options in the rural communities of Green County. GCDC, with support from a grant provided by Compeer Financial, will work with Green County towns outside of Monroe to provide short-term rental/mortgage assistance for entrepreneurs that can fill vacant storefronts and expand retail options in rural downtowns areas of Green County.
The intention of Pop-Up Shop programs is to increase downtown appeal and foot traffic, and to support entrepreneurs that are ready to launch their business. Local landlords are able to fill vacant storefronts, local investment grows, and livability of our communities increases.
Entrepreneurs and storefront owners can contact GCDC for more information on the Pop-Up Shop program, at gcdc@greencountydevelopment.com or by calling 608-328-9452.
