Emerald ash borers workshop will be May 1

MONROE - A free workshop on emerald ash borers will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St.

The "Preparing For Emerald Ash Borer" workshop, hosted by the University of Wsiconsin-Extension, Whitney Tree Service, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Southwest Badger Resource Conservation and Development, will give information on:

• How to identify Ash trees

• How to identify the emerald ash borer beetle

• How to recognize the signs and symptoms of infected tress

• Here EAB currently is and how to detect it

• What the options for infected trees are

• How to handle EAB infected wood.
