MONROE - Dr. Kristen Shook-Slack of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Social Work and Institute for Research on Poverty will give a presentation at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 at the Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St.
The name of the presentation is "Understanding Families in the New Economy: Stress and Economic Instability." Shook-Slack will discuss how families are impacted by the current economy and how it impacts the community.
Shook-Slack is a professor and directs the UW-Madison School of Social Work. She also works with the Institute for Research on Poverty, and the Center for Child Welfare Policy and Practice.
