E-waste items now being accepted in Monroe

MONROE - The City of Monroe is now accepting the following for recycling: computer systems, laptops, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, projectors, stereo components, microwave ovens, cell phones and smoke detectors.

Items will be accepted at $.35 per pound and must be dropped of at the Street Department administration office.

Batteries may be dropped off at the Street Department administration office or the Treasurer's office at City Hall. Common batteries and cordless tool batteries will cost $2.50 per pound. Lithium batteries will cost $10 per pound. Vehicular batteries will not be accepted.
