Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — No injuries and minor damage to both vehicles was reported from a two-vehicle accident on Larson Road, Town of Wiota, at 10:47 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15. Nicole L. Lincicum, 37, Monroe, was backing out of driveway with her 2013 Nissan and struck a 2013 Chrysler owned by Terrence F. Haines, 79, South Wayne.

●  Kathryn M. Heidenreich, 54, Warren, Illinois, reported hitting a deer on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot, at 3:31 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17. No injuries were reported. Her vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. Investigation showed that Efrain Gonzalez-Ojeda, 27, Monroe, was northbound on 20th Avenue, stopped at the intersection with 9th Street and then proceeded through the intersection and hit a westbound vehicle traveling on 9th Street. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Gonzalez-Ojeda was cited for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — A two-vehicle accident with injuries was reported in the W400 block of Wisconsin 81, Town of Spring Grove, at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. Tyler S. Stauss, 18, Beloit, was westbound when he encountered a deer in the road, slammed on his brakes to avoid colliding with it and was rear-ended by a truck driven by Daniel F. Baumgartner, 31, Monroe. Strauss and his passenger Elizabeth M. Kalk, 16, Clinton, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the crash. Baumgartner and his passenger Michelle A. Williams, 35, Monroe, were injured and taken by ambulance to the Monroe Clinic ER. Baumgartner reported wearing his seatbelt, but Williams was not wearing hers. Baumgartner’s truck sustained disabling damage and was towed. The Strauss vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Neither vehicle had airbag deployment. Baumgartner was cited for driving with a suspended license and inattentive driving. Brodhead EMS and the Brodhead Police and Fire Departments assisted deputies on scene.
