MONROE — A traffic stop led to a drug bust in Albany in 2022 that has a 32-year-old Fitchburg woman now facing multiple felonies in Green County Circuit Court.
According to court records, Nava Victoria, is charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl as a party to a crime, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, as a party to a crime; and possession with intent to deliver narcotics, as a party to a crime.
Victoria is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on the charges at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 19, in Green County Circuit Court.
The traffic stop occurred on May 21, 2022. An Albany patrol officer followed a car, which was apparently visiting a known drug user’s home, and pulled the car over for a brake light out at about 7:30 p.m.
The drugs were subsequently found during a search of the car aided by Green County Sheriff’s deputies, in which Victoria was a passenger according to court records.
As a result of the stop, the alleged driver, Shannon D. Middleton, 32, whose home town was not provided in court records, was convicted last may in Circuit Court of felony possession of heroin and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Several other charges were dismissed but read into the court record at that time.
Middleton was sentenced in May, 2023 to five years in prison and five years of probation in the case. As part of his sentence, he was to have no contact with co-defendant Nava, who has been free on a $2,000 bond, records show.
