Yvonne "Mickey" A. Fahrney

BRODHEAD - Yvonne "Mickey" A. Fahrney, age 70, of Brodhead, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Collinwood Elderly Care Home, Brodhead. She was born on January 30, 1939 in Albany, WI, the daughter of Ross and Eva (Harding) Sherbondy.

Mickey was a 1957 graduate of Albany High School and also a graduate of Blackhawk Tech. Mickey lived most of her life in Albany and moved to Brodhead in 1990. She was a bus driver for the Albany School District and also served on the Albany Village Board. Mickey had been employed by Stop N Go of Brodhead and Ogden Mfg. of Orfordville. She had a love for all animals, especially Freddie, her donkey and her dogs, Chauncey, Willie, and Peter.

Mickey is survived by her three loving children, Bruce Fahrney, Brodhead, Jamie (Bobette) Fahrney, Monroe, Stacey (Jeff) Olson, Brodhead; five cherished grandchildren, Kristin Fahrney, AZ, Kari Fahrney, Stockton, IL, Caitlyn, Brianne, and Brendon Olson, Brodhead; three great-grandchildren, Lexis, Braelynn, and Isaiah; a sister, Faye Freese Seligman, Vancouver, BC. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Charlene Haddinger.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. R. Tiffany Bates officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Albany. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

The family would like to thank the staff of Collinwood Elderly Care Home, Monroe Clinic Hospice, and Dan Newcomer for their loving and compassionate care.
