NEW GLARUS TOWNSHIP - A New Glarus woman faces a charge of intoxicated driving after a crash that injured her 4-year-old son Monday, May 27.
Sharon M. Frills, 27, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated with children younger than 16 in the vehicle, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.
She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to have a child in a child restraint and failure to keep her vehicle under control.
The crash happened at 8:35 p.m. Monday in the N8700 block of Wisconsin 69 in New Glarus Township.
Frills told deputies she swerved to miss a deer. The car went into the ditch and down an embankment and came to rest in a creek.
A passenger, 4-year-old Malik L. Frills, sustained non-life threatening injuries but was not transported for medical attention. No other injuries were reported.
Frills was released pending court.
New Glarus police, firefighters and EMS assisted at the scene.
