Wesley Franklin Jordan, age 92 of Juda, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016. He was born in Jefferson Township on September 26, 1923 to Frank and Lena (Asmus) Jordan. He graduated from Juda High School, attended technical school short courses, and the Dairy Herd Short Course for training as a herd improvement fieldman which he did for nine years. Wesley farmed most of his adult life on the home farm South of Juda. He was an early pioneer for soil and water conservation establishing a terrace, waterways, and contour strips on the farm. He was a member of the Green County Farm Bureau, Associated Milk Producers, National Holstein Association, and the National Historic Cheesemaking Center. Wesley loved the outdoors enjoying gardening, flowers, and working in the orchard. He liked to read and learn history. He was a member of the Grace Independent Baptist Church of Brodhead where he served twenty eight years as Deacon Treasurer and in his younger years worked with youth fellowship and taught Sunday School. Wesley and Aleatha Buri were married on June 12, 1953 at the Bethel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Monroe. Upon retirement from the farm, Wesley and Aleatha traveled within the states, several trips to the Island of Guam, as well as Israel, Egypt, Greece, Switzerland, and Germany.

Wesley is survived by his wife, Aleatha Jordan of Juda; six children, Ruth Ann (David) Zempel, Martinsville, IN, John (Dawn), rural Monticello, David (Julie), Omaha, NE, Jane Jordan, Jacksonville, FL, Laurie (Curtis) Kingsland, Odenton, MD, and Daniel (Debbie) of Clear Lake, Iowa; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Al (Shirley) Buri of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Christian Zempel; three brothers, Leland, Elmer, and Orvin Jordan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grace Independent Baptist Church, 624 Clarence Road, Brodhead, with Pastors Donald Adams, Dan Jordan, and David Zempel officiating. Interment will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Juda, followed by a memorial luncheon at the Juda Community Center. Visitation will be on Friday, February 12, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. A memorial fund will be established in Wesley's name.
