Vivian M. Genthe, age 69 of Monroe, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at her home. She was born on December 13, 1941 in Cub Hollow, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Lillian (Korneman) Anschutz. She graduated from Gratiot High School in 1959. Vivian married Lynn C. Genthe on December 19, 1959 in Platteville, WI. Vivian was the first Lady Auctioneer in the State of Wisconsin. She also was a real estate broker, bird breeder, and Co-Owner of Genthe Appliance and Furniture until 2005. She enjoyed drawing, painting, sculpting and wood carving. She loved to mother anyone or anything.
She is survived by 3 sons: Kirk (Marcy) Genthe of Albany, Kevin (Colleen) Genthe of Monroe and Kyle Genthe of Monroe; 3 daughters: Angie (Howard) Laube of Elburn, IL, Ember Genthe of New Glarus, and April Franks of Rockford, IL; 18 grandchildren; 2 1/2 great grandchildren; 6 sisters: Dorothy Holverson of Green Bay, WI, Janet (Walt) Foerester of Belvidere, IL, Janeal (Jim) Long of Belvidere, IL, Judy Upmann of Rockford, IL, Henrietta Beeler of Beloit, and Rosey Beeler of Beloit; 1 brother, William (Jean) Anschutz Jr. of Gratiot. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Larry Pinnow officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Vivian's name.
