Violetta F. Baumgartner, age 97, of Monroe, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home. She was born on December 3, 1919 in Monroe, Wisconsin the daughter of Harvey and Florence (Thomm) Huffman. She was a 1937 graduate from Monroe High School.

Violetta and Alfred W. Baumgartner were united in marriage on February 14, 1940 at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Violetta farmed with her husband and also worked at Color Putty in Monroe for many years.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed music and tending to her flower gardens. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Phyllis (Louis) Studer of Monroe, Lyle (Margaret) Baumgartner of Monroe, Harvey Baumgartner of Elroy, Wisconsin and 8 grandchildren: Carrie Herzog, Allison Hlubek, Amie, Michael and Karen Baumgartner, Emily Holz, Anna Lanman and Brook Baumgartner; and 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, with Rev. Kathleen Rinear officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, May 8th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Monroe Clinic Hospice or St. John's United Church of Christ in Violetta's memory.

The family would like to thank St. Claire Friedensheim and their staff for the wonderful care given our mother.
