MONROE - Three Iowans were cited Thursday evening on Monroe's south side for selling vacuums and carpet-cleaning supplies door-to-door without a permit, according to police.
Anthony M. Guthmiller, 24, Michael D. Dugan, 33, and Catherine D. Matagne, 21, all of Davenport, were reportedly hawking Kirby vacuums and other products to residents when officers apprehended them in the 2500 block of 10th Avenue at 7:11 p.m., March 1.
All three were cited for failure to obtain a vending permit. It wasn't their first brush with the law over unauthorized vending, according to Police Chief Fred Kelley.
"They were here last September and warned," Kelley said.
A fourth door-to-door seller was released with a warning.
